Paper: Inclusion of Dance in Physical Education

Inclusion of Dance in Physical Education

Please click the link above to access my paper, Inclusion of Dance in Physical Education. I wrote this paper in my second semester of Kinesiology in an Educational Dance class. I learned a lot about incorporating culture into dance, and utilizing dance in a variety of forms for children of all ages.

Including dance in physical education not only follows the Saskatchewan Curriculum, but more importantly, it offers students culturally rich, grade-level appropriate learning experiences. If dance were excluded from physical education, students would miss out on not only movement opportunities that affect their minds and bodies. Additionally, dance allows students to become aware of their relationship with themselves and others.
